The Liveaboard Club

Membership

It pays for itself on the first booking. After that it is just free money.

Members get a lower rate on every boat we sell, plus the things a booking engine cannot give you: someone who has been on the boat, cabins before they are listed, and a place on our hosted trips.

What the 7% is worth in real money

An average week aboardUS$ 2,800
Your member saving− US$ 196
Founding membershipUS$ 45
Net in your pocket, year oneUS$ 151

Based on a US$ 2,800 cabin, which sits mid-range across our shortlist. Cheaper weeks save less; Galápagos and Socorro save considerably more.

How the member rate works

We never add a markup — the price is the operator's own published price. Membership unlocks a lower, members-only rate on top of that, and because it sits behind your login it never appears in public search. That is what lets us offer it while keeping the boat's public price protected.

Questions people actually ask

Before you put a card in

What if I do not travel this year?
Then the membership costs you US$ 45 and you got nothing out of it, which we would rather avoid. If you are not planning a trip in the next twelve months, wait. We will still be here, and we will honour the founding price for anyone on our list when places run out.
Can I cancel?
Any time, online, in one click from your account page. No email, no phone call, no retention script. Your membership runs to the end of the period you paid for.
Is the member rate really lower than booking direct?
Yes, and you can check. The public price on our site is the operator's own published price, the same number you will find on their website. The member rate is that number minus our rebate. If you ever find a lower price for the same cabin and dates, send it to us and we will match it or tell you honestly to book the other one.
Who holds my money?
The boat does. We take the membership fee and nothing else. Your deposit and balance go to the operator through their own secure payment link, under their payment terms. That is deliberate: it means your trip money is never sitting in our account.
What happens if the operator goes under?
It happens in this industry, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest. We vet operators before listing them and we will tell you what we know about a boat's standing. We also strongly recommend travel insurance with supplier insolvency cover, and we will point you at a policy that has it. We are an agent: your contract is with the vessel.
Do you sell flights?
No, on purpose. Combining a flight with the boat would make what we sell a package under European and UK law, which brings obligations we are not set up to carry. You book your own flights, and we will happily tell you which routing works.
